This is a history-based museum that focuses on the entire Tohoku region. Exhibits and video presentations focus on history from the Paleolithic Age to the present day. On the premises, an old private house from the Edo period has been relocated and restored, and a wide range of traditional Tohoku culture is introduced. The Children’s History Museum offers visitors a fun way to learn about history through a variety of hands-on activities.
The general exhibition room displays the history of the entire Tohoku region from the Paleolithic Age to modern times, divided into nine sections by era. In addition, there is a detailed exhibition section that presents in-depth exhibits on three themes that best illustrate the characteristics of the Tōhoku region.
