Shodoshima Olive Park is a town park, theme park, and roadside station on Shodoshima Island.
It is adjacent to an olive grove where olives were successfully cultivated for the first time in Japan during the Meiji Era (1868-1912).
On a small hill overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, visitors will find the Olive Memorial Museum, which introduces the history and culture of Shodoshima and olives, a Greek windmill, an herb garden growing about 120 varieties of herbs, lodging facilities, hot springs, and stores.
The Greek windmill was a gift from Shodoshima’s sister island, Milos, Greece, and is reminiscent of the Mediterranean Sea.
Visitors can rent a magic broom for free and take pictures with it with the Greek windmill in the background.
At the café, you can enjoy sundries and herb tea in the store, which was set on the location of the movie “The Witch’s Delivery Service.
At “Sun Olive,” a bathing facility using natural hot spring water, visitors can relax with herbal and esthetic baths.
Visitors can enjoy the beautiful scenery and herbs with all their senses surrounded by the blue sea and sky, green olives, white clouds, and 2,000 olive trees. You can enjoy the beautiful scenery and herbs with all your senses.
