There is a long, narrow sandbar that is said to be the most beautiful in the East. It stretches 7 to 11 kilometers off the coast of Okutake Island and Aoha Island on the east side of Kume Island.
With its pure white sand and cobalt green sea, it is like a dreamlike world!
This wonderful sandbar is called “Hate-no-hama,” and is actually divided into three islands. Maine Beach, Nakano Beach, and Hate-no-hama.
But beware, you can’t get there by car or on foot, it takes about 20 minutes using a ferry company. Take the boat and experience the spectacular view of Hate-no-hama.
