The park’s most distinctive feature is its collection of more than 200 statues depicting the opposing armies of eastern and western Japan. The confrontations between commanders such as Tokugawa Ieyasu, Ishida Mitsunari, and Ōtani Yoshitsugu are recreated in a humorous style. Detailed figures of foot soldiers and arquebus units add to the vivid battlefield scenes.
The military camps, banners, and camp curtains are recreated with reference to historical records. These details help convey the atmosphere of the Battle of Sekigahara and allow visitors to imagine what the battlefield looked like during one of the most decisive conflicts in Japanese history.
The on-site Arms and Armor Museum displays items associated with the era, including samurai armor and matchlock firearms. The exhibits provide additional insight into the weapons and equipment used in warfare during Japan’s feudal period.
Visitors are free to take photographs throughout the grounds. The expressive statues and unusual battlefield scenes offer plenty of opportunities for creative and memorable pictures.
