Moomin Valley Park is a theme park where you can enjoy the Moomin stories. This is the only Moomin theme park outside of Finland.
The Moomin Valley Park is located in Metsä, a cozy and relaxing facility in a vast area (equivalent to four times the size of the Tokyo Dome) in the lush nature around Lake Miyazawa, as if it were floating in Northern Europe.
Metsä has two areas: Moomin valley park, a theme park with a fee, and Metsä village, a free market where you can enjoy Scandinavian cuisine and lifestyle, and also experience activities such as canoeing and workshops. The name “Metsä village” is a play on the word “metsä”.
The name “metsä” means “forest” in Finnish.
Moomin Valley Park consists of four areas: the Beginning Cove Area, Moomin Valley Area, Kokkems Area, and Osabishiyama Area, where Moomin-related attractions and stores are located.
In the Beginning Cove Area, there is the Welcome Gate, Lettura Lounge (restaurant), Beginning Shop, and Information.
In the Moomin Valley area, visitors can enjoy the Bathing Hut, Trivia Quest, the Moomin Mansion, the Sea Orchestra, Little Mii’s Playspot, Emma’s Theater, the Photo Studio, arcade games, take-out food, Little Mii’s Store, the Postal Service, and Nibbling’s Store.
In the Kokemus area, there is a Moomin Valley store, Moomin Valley diner, store and café, workshop, and KOKEMUS.
In the Osabashi Mountain area, Tobigyo Oni’s Zipline Adventure, Mr. Hemulen’s Amusement Park, Snufkin’s Tent, an observatory, and a lighthouse await.
There is also a public area themed around the Scandinavian lifestyle called Mezza Village. There you will find VIKING HALL (restaurant building), MARKET HALL (market building), Nordics, Nordic Square, Metza Hall, Craft Bibliotech, Canoe Workshop, Nordic Square, Fun Mock, and more.
Why don’t you experience the charm of the stories and the thoughts of the author, Tove Jansson, in these four areas where you can relive the Moomin stories?
