Toguchi-no-hama Beach

A Beautiful Beach with a Broad, Sweeping Curve

Toguchi-no-hama Beach is located on the southwestern coast of Irabu Island, northwest of Miyako Island. Together with the famous Yonaha Maehama Beach, it is regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in the Miyako Islands.

The natural beach stretches for approximately 800 meters, with a broad sandy shore about 50 meters wide. Its fine, soft white sand and exceptionally clear water create the classic tropical landscape that visitors come to Miyakojima to experience.

White Sand, Clear Blue Water, and Greenery

The sea around Toguchi-no-hama is renowned throughout Okinawa for its remarkable clarity. Behind the beach is a coastal windbreak forest, creating a beautiful contrast between the deep blue sea, white sand, and lush green trees.

Walking barefoot across the fine sand is one of the simple pleasures of visiting the beach. The soft texture of the sand underfoot and the warmth of the tropical climate create a wonderfully relaxing atmosphere.

A Sweeping Natural Coastline

At the western end of the beach, a breakwater extends several dozen meters into the sea. Looking out from here, visitors can see the distant horizon stretching across the open ocean. Turn back toward the beach, and the coastline forms a striking bow-shaped curve.

This broad arc is one of the defining features of Toguchi-no-hama. The shoreline is a natural formation, and its spacious shape provides a sense of openness that makes the beach particularly attractive for leisurely walks and seaside relaxation.

Facilities at Both Ends of the Beach

There are two entrances to Toguchi-no-hama, one at the eastern end and another at the western end. Both entrances have shops that also serve food and drinks, as well as convenient facilities including parking areas, toilets, and showers.

At the facilities on the western side, visitors can also rent a variety of marine leisure equipment, making it easier to enjoy activities in and around the water.

Enjoy the Natural Beauty of Irabu Island

Toguchi-no-hama is a place where visitors can enjoy the sea in a relaxed natural setting. The combination of soft white sand, crystal-clear water, green coastal vegetation, and the graceful curve of the shoreline creates one of the most scenic beach landscapes in the Miyako Islands.

Whether you want to swim, enjoy marine activities, walk barefoot along the shore, or simply admire the tropical scenery, Toguchi-no-hama Beach is a wonderful place to experience the natural beauty of Irabu Island.
