Nanohana Tofu is a handmade tofu made with carefully selected, large-grain soybeans from Japan, natural nigari from Izu Oshima, and abundant Awa water, naturally filtered through the rich environment of southern Chiba.
The name “Nanohana,” meaning “rapeseed flower”, does not mean that rapeseed flowers are used as an ingredient. Instead, the name is said to have been inspired by the tofu’s soft, gentle appearance and the warm, comforting impression it evokes.
Nanohana Tofu has a full-bodied and naturally rich soybean flavor. Thanks to the quality of its ingredients and traditional handmade production, it is known for being delicious even without adding soy sauce or salt.
Its smooth texture and deep soybean taste make it enjoyable on its own, while also allowing it to be paired with a variety of Japanese dishes.
Nanohana Tofu is available in a wide range of flavors, offering an interesting alternative to traditional plain tofu. Popular varieties include edamame, ume and shiso, sesame, yuzu, and azuki bean.
Each variety offers its own distinctive flavor, color, and shape, making Nanohana Tofu appealing not only for its taste but also for its visual variety.
With carefully selected Japanese soybeans, natural nigari from Izu Oshima, and pure water from the Awa region, Nanohana Tofu reflects the natural bounty of southern Chiba. It is a simple yet distinctive local food that allows visitors to appreciate the rich flavor of soybeans and the craftsmanship of handmade tofu.
