Mt. Okura Observatory

Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium, where international competitions have been held and used for the Olympics.
To get to the observatory, take the two-seater lift, which is also used by ski jumpers.

From the starting point at an elevation of 307 meters, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city of Sapporo and the Ishikari Plain.
You can experience the steepness of the jump start point,
You can see many landmarks scattered around the city such as Sapporo Dome and Hokkaido University, Ishikari Bay beyond, and mountains in the far distance.

In summer, the park is open at night and offers a beautiful night view of Sapporo, which has been recognized as one of the “New Three Best Night Views in Japan,
In winter, the entire area is covered with snow, creating a “pure white” landscape.

On days when there is no competition, visitors can experience a simulated view from the perspective of a jumper from the “observation lounge” located behind the starting point.
The all-weather arena, which can be watered in summer as well, so you may encounter jumpers practicing.

The Sapporo Winter Sports Museum is also located inside the stadium, where visitors can enjoy a simulated jumping experience.
