Rinku Park

A Scenic Seaside Park with Views of the Ocean and Kansai International Airport

Rinku Park is a large seaside park stretching across Izumisano City and Tajiri Town in Osaka Prefecture. The park covers approximately 61.2 hectares, of which 19.1 hectares are currently open to the public. The existing park area is located within Izumisano City and Tajiri Town, while future plans call for expansion into the Sennan City area.

The park is owned by Osaka Prefecture and is managed and operated by the Osaka Prefectural Park Association, which serves as its designated manager.

Location and Highlights

A Seaside Setting Facing Kansai International Airport

One of Rinku Park’s greatest attractions is its location directly across the water from Kansai International Airport. The park faces the sea to the west, offering close-up views of aircraft taking off and landing as well as the bridge connecting the airport with the mainland.

On clear days, visitors can also see the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and Awaji Island in the distance. The sunset views from the park are particularly beautiful, and the scenery has been selected as one of Japan’s 100 Best Sunset Spots.

A Variety of Events

Taking advantage of its spacious waterfront setting, Rinku Park frequently hosts a wide range of events, including cosplay gatherings, video and commercial shoots, and events highlighting the character of the local area.

Recent events have included the Rinku Relay Marathon and Rinku Fireworks, attracting visitors from both the local community and farther afield.

The white beach extends for approximately 2.8 kilometers and is an excellent place to watch the sunset. It is also used as a venue for fireworks displays.

Several facilities provide comfortable places to enjoy the scenery, including the North Observatory, Hagi Rest Area, and South Observatory.
